Rosemary H,. Vanderwerken

Rosemary H. Vanderwerken,87, of Norwich, formerly of Oneida, passed away Sunday, July 5,2020 at Rome Memorial Hospital.  Born in Oneida, New York on November 16, 1932 she was a Delta Phi Gamma member at Oneida High School, President of the Friday Night Ladies Bowling League, a former President of the Ladies Owl Club and a 60-year member of the Oneida American Legion.  She retired from Oneida Limited after 39 years of service. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Merle Vanderwerken; daughter, Gail Garcia; grandson, Craig James; great grandson, Ashton Fox; and her sister, Joyce Dunn.

She is survived by her two sons, Garry James of Norwich and Brian James (Kathleen Jason) of Norwich; her daughter, Brianna (Steve) Rogers of Rome; brother, James Hurrle of Lakeland, Florida; thirteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, special friends, Pauline Gormley and Martin Goodfellow and her special feline companion, Baby.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 1 p.m. at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before the services, 322 Washington Ave, Oneida.
