Obituary

Canastota-Robert M. Fietz, 89, of Whitelaw, passed away peacefully at his home on March 18, 2023, five days before his 90th birth day.

He was born in Oneida on March 23, 1933, the son of late Oswald and Leua Mosher Fietz. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Germany.  He retired from Kime’s True Value Store in Oneida.  He had a love for all who he came in contact with at the store.  He was an avid gardener who grew prize winning Gladiolas.

Rob is survived by many special loving and caring people in his life.  They include his step brother Earl Hardendorf and  his adopted  “son” William Colvin.  Bob had a very close relationship with his nieces and nephews.

He was honored privately on his 90th birthday. There are no public services at this time. Personal care is being provided by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Coolican-McSweeney & Paul Funeral Home of Oneida. To offer a condolence, please visit: coolican-mcsweeney.com
