Oneida-Patricia Lee Tarry, 80, passed away peacefully at her home with the love and support of her family at her side, on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
She was born on July 23, 1942, in Wayland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Corbert and Mary (nee Patton) Bentley. She was raised by her aunt Virgie (nee Patton) and Jack Burchett. Pat grew up in McDowell, KY, and attended local schools. As a young adult, Pat traveled to various cities in the United States and held various positions in her travels. She married and had her family, eventually living in Oneida. She had worked for the Canastota School District having served in various capacities in the school’s food service program. Pat loved working every day at the school and her relationships with all the school children. She was inspired to continue her education and was a graduate of the GED program. Pat then held a 27 year career with the Madison County WIC Program. In her position with WIC, she was able to provide much needed nutritional support to many children and families. She took pride in all the young children she was able to help support to have a better outlook on life. Prior to her retirement, Pat had been trained to be a certified Phlebotomist, working for several different laboratories. She was married to her soulmate Thomas Tarry Sr. Together they had a passion for harness horses. They were a fixture of the horse racing circuit at Vernon Downs. Pat was always there for Tom, always his caregiver, up until the time he passed. Pat was also involved in the community, having belonged to various clubs and lodges. She was known to be an excellent cook, a jokester, and would light up any room with her smile. Pat loved Neil Diamond’s songs, especially, “Sweet Caroline.” She enjoyed anytime the family would gather, no matter the occasion. Most of all, her passing creates a void in the family. Her love and devotion to her family leaves her special legacy that no one person will ever be able to replicate.
Pat is survived by her children: William Jones and fiancée, Annette Hope, Sally Servello and her life partner Paige Fraccola, Daniel Jones and his wife Wendy; her stepson, Tom Tarry Jr., and his wife Jodie, and her step daughter Colleen Tarry.
