Orley Baker Obituary

Orley F. Baker, originally from Camden, living in Brewerton, and most recently of Oneida.
Graduating from St. Cloud High in Florida, he enlisted in the Marines and was a saxophone and clarinet player in the Marine Corps band during WWII. Using the GI Bill he became a watchmaker, owning Baker’s Music and Jewelry in Camden. He worked his craft for over 70 years until his passing. His passion for music was as necessary in life as his profession, playing in many bands over the years with some very special people. He regularly played Beck’s Grove, The Kon Tiki, and Lisi’s until health challenges limited his performances.
Orley was predeceased by his wife, Cleone; and is survived by his two sons and a daughter along with his stepson and step daughter; many grand children; and great grand children.
Orley’s celebration of life will be on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 6pm in The Abundant Life Community Church, 86 Mexico Street, Camden, and is open to all who wish to attend.
Arrangements are with Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, Oneida.
