Minoa-Michael D. Wilson Jr., 52, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Oneida Health’s Emergency Room following an apparent medical episode.
Mike was born in Portsmouth, VA, on October 3, 1970, the son of Michael D. Wilson Sr. and LaNitia Stone Wilson. As a military child, he was raised in different parts of the country, later settling in Oneida. Mike was a graduate of Oneida High School. He furthered his education at SUNY Morrisville, graduating with an associate’s degree. In his most recent employment, Mike was a Production Supervisor at Bitzer Scholl Manufacturing of Syracuse. He was known as a “team builder” of the employee’s under his supervision. To his superiors, he was always an innovator, building employee moral and more efficient ways for production. He had previously worked at Driver’s Village as a salesman. He had won many awards as “Top Salesman” while at Driver’s Village. He had also worked at Marquart Switches and New Process Gear. Mike had a “heart of gold,” was always willing to lend a helping hand, but most of all, the deepest love and admiration for his children.
He is survived by his beloved children; Patrick, Ryan, and Rachel; his cherished mother LaNita Wilson of Canastota; his cherished father Michael D. Wilson Sr.; his sisters Angelique Wilson of Oneida and Michelle Glauer of TN; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike also leaves behind his work family at Bitzer Scholl.
