Durhamville-Michael P. Fusillo, 50, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital.
He was born in Rome on December 2, 1973, the son of Tom and Paula Roache Fusillo. Mike was raised in Canastota and attended Canastota High School. He had a passion for football and played in pop warner and high school football. Mike was known as an excellent carpenter and home builder. He was the owner of his own business, Fusillo Contracting in Canastota. Prior to being in business, Mike had worked for the All Seasons Vending Company. Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR and baseball. His love of the great outdoors included fishing, and in his younger years hunting. He had a warm smile that would brighten anyone’s day.
Mike was a constant companion to his mom, Paula, who deeply mourns his passing. He is also survived by his children: River, Rayne, and Snowe; his stepbrothers Shawn Fusillo and Scott (Rose) Fusillo; his aunts Tina Heringshaw and Betty Conrad; his uncles: Pete Roache, Jim Roache, and Rick Roache. Mike also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was predeceased by his father Tom.
There will be a celebration of Mike’s life to be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Oneida American Legion Post, 169, 398 North Main Street, in Oneida, from 1 PM to 4 PM. There will be no public services. Personal and professional care is being provided to Mike and his family by Jeffrey T. Paul, Director of the Coolican-McSweeney & Paul Funeral Home.
