Oneida- Michael Patrick Cox, 66, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Oneida Healthcare Center.
Michael was born in Norwich on August 15, 1955, the son of Grover and Mary Cox. Michael attended both Oneida Schools and the Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) . While attending CBA Michael had the opportunity to attend his class trip to Spain. Upon completion from school Michael held various jobs to include working for the City of Oneida Department of Public Works. Michael had many interests in life which included horseracing, reading, the Mafia, Godfather movies and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Michael, “Tex” as he was called, was a faithful member of the Oneida Owls Nest and will be remembered by all his friends. He may not be sleeping with the fishes’, just hanging with Don Corleone.
He is survived by his two brothers Thomas (Donna) Cox of Oneida, and John (Rae) Cox of Fulton, and a sister Maureen Cox, and a very special friend, Sandra Meli. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Grover and Mary Cox.
In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no public services. Private family services will take place with an interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
