Rome-On July 25, 2021, Michael J. Campolo, age 54, Town of Floyd resident, passed away unexpectedly.
Michael was a loving husband, an amazing father and an incredible grandfather. The kids all loved to call him, “Grumpy.” Michael loved fishing. He also took pride in his garden and yard. Michael loved to take random drives with his wife, never knowing where life and the adventures would take them. Michael loved his children and grandchildren more than words can describe. His grandchildren brought him pure joy and held such a special place in his heart. Grumpy was their buddy and were his buddies.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Diane Campolo; his children, daughter, Renee Claflin and her husband, Frank Claflin; daughter, Lisa Dexter, her husband Daniel Dexter, and son, Michael C. Campolo; as well as his grandchildren, Vanessa Claflin Fleury, Frank Claflin, Jr., Logan Claflin, Bennett Claflin, Jayden Dexter, and Lincoln Dexter, as well as great granddaughter, Ella Rose and a special cousin, Frances Kirts.
Michael was the son of Carmen Campolo, who is in heaven awaiting his son’s arrival. Michael is also predeceased by his father-in-law, Arthur Mills, husband of Beatrice Mills. He is also predeceased by a nephew, Jason Willson. Michael loved all his nieces and nephews.
