Marlene S. Janovsky

Oneida Castle-Marlene S. Janovsky, 85, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at her home, under Hospice Care on Friday, December 1, 2023.

She was born in Vernon on July 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Chester and Margaret Perrigo Smith.  Marlene was raised in Vernon and was a graduate of the Vernon –Verona High School. She married the love of her life, who predeceased Marlene, Charles Janovsky, Jr.  She had spent many years of her working career at Oneida Limited, until her retirement. Marlene was devoted to the care of her, “fur babies.”  She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.

Marlene is survived by her children, Kelly Janovsky, her son Charles “Chip” Janovsky III, and his life companion Sally Curtis, all of Oneida Castle; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Sean) Hoffman of Vernon, and Nathan Janovsky of Oneida; her brothers Jim Smith and Gordon Smith; her cherished great grandson Carter Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Chester and Margaret, her beloved husband Charles Jr, and her sister Janice Durant.

Marlene’ family offers a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Siegenthaler and the staff at TriValley Family Practice; and heartfelt thanks to the nurses of Hospice Care, for the love and support they provided.  Also a special thank you to two special people Gail Crisafi and Christine Willey
