Margaret A. “Peg” Sullivan Dreyer

Canastota-Margaret A. “Peg” Sullivan Dreyer, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital.

She was born on July 3, 1951, the daughter of the late James and Betty Jurden Sullivan.  Peg was raised in Wampsville and graduated from Oneida High School. She continued her education and was a graduate of the Central City Business Institute in Syracuse with a degree in computer technology.  Peg started her work career with the Burroughs Corporation in Syracuse. She was later transferred by the corporation to Illinois. While in Illinois, she met and fell in love with Thomas E. Dreyer.  They returned to the Oneida area and were wed on April 28, 1984 at St. Francis Catholic Church.  Peg enjoyed her 23-year career driving school bus for the Oneida City School District.  From a young age, Peg was deeply involved in horses. Her entire life she had many horses that she cared for and loved.   Peg’s stallion, “Shane” was awarded Grand Champion for three years in a row at the New State Fair Horse Show.  She excelled at crocheting, and if anyone she knew was about to have a baby, she would create a special memorable baby blanket as a gift. Most of all, her heart belonged to her family, as she was a devoted wife and mother.  They will always carry the love of Peg with them.

Peg is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Tom, her beloved son Maxwell T. Dreyer of Morrisville and her beloved daughter Anna E. Dreyer of Auburn; her brothers, James (Elvira) Sullivan of Canastota and Daniel (Bonnie) Sullivan of Chittenango; several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

In keeping with Peg’s wishes, there are no services or calling hours at this time.  Private family services were held on March 10, 2021. Peg’s family have entrusted her care to Jeffery T.
