Canastota- Judith Dale Denton, 52, passed away in the care of her family’s love on Monday, September 12, 2022, following a brief illness at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie.
Judi was born on September 30, 1969, in Hartford, Connecticut, the daughter of Roy Denton and Glenyse Grenier.
She is survived by her son, “her Buddy,” her “Baby,” Jacob Denton, her wonderful daughter-in-law Kayla Rickett, her beloved dog Wally, her “Beautiful and Best Mama” (and midnight, card player partner) Glenyse, her adoring Sisters and their families which include: René (Tom) Parmeter, Kim (Rich Bourdeau) Denton, Victoria (Kevin Goggins) Buda, Sally Buda and Doreen (Vincent) Cassotta, Leah and Austin Thomas along with her sisters’ children, Matthew and Tommy Parmeter, Michael and Timothy Rumrill, Katie, Kyle, and Keryn Buda, John “AJ” Golec, Nicholas and Annie Cassotta, Jennifer Shaw and their spouses, partners and children. Along with her cousin Stephen Ashley, grand kitty Allen and many other special family and friends.
Judi was predeceased by her precious daughter Amber, beloved father Roy, darling niece Amanda, best friend Les Lewis and several other dear family members.
A hard-working single mother, who put others before herself, Judi “Juju” lit up every room with her contagious laughter and smile. Juju never gave up on anything, not even Floribob the horse (who won by a long shot). She loved cooking fried chicken, fishing, trucking, gardening, the Yankees, Dale Earnhardt and the Miami Dolphins. Judi was a supreme animal and nature lover (including her 17 year old goldfish), but nothing was as important to Judi as her family. Forgiving, merciful, bubbly, a trickster (“look what I can do”), Judi’s strength, kindness, selflessness, and beauty will live on in all who love her.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 1PM, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Canastota. In keeping with Judi’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Judi and her family are being personally cared for by Jeffrey T. Paul, of the Coolican-McSweeney & Paul Funeral Home of Oneida.
