Carol A. (Lewin) Fanning

Carol A. Fanning, 85, of Verona Beach, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at Rome Hospital, with her family by her side. 

Born in Rome, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mildred Ingalls Lewin.  Carol worked for Oneida LTD and had many bartending jobs throughout the area before retiring from Oneida County.  She truly enjoyed her moment of serving as Grand Marshall of the Sylvan Beach Pirates Parade. 

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Fanning of Sylvan Beach and Deborah Seifert-Seeber of Verona Beach; her son, Michael Seifert of Seivereville, TN; and was a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt.  Carol was predeceased by three children, Nick T. Fanning, Colleen Fanning and Scott Fanning; as well as all her brothers and sisters, William Lewin, Judy Waters, Richard Lewin, Theodore Lewin and Mildred Winn. 

Per request of the family there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held Sunday at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida.  The family will continue to celebrate her life with friends on Sunday, August 12 from 2-5 pm at the Oneida Castle Fire Department.  Private interment will be in Fish Creek Landing Cemetery.
