Betty Bashaw Obituary

Betty L. Bashaw, 88, of Canastota, passed away January 3, 2021 at Oneida Healthcare Center, after a short illness.

Born in Rome on April 26, 1932, she was the daughter of George and Marion Foley Bennett. Betty was currently residing at the Stoneleigh Apartments in Canastota, where she enjoyed shuffleboard, cards and crafts.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Bashaw; her son, Georges Merklinger; and her granddaughter, Danielle Moorefield. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Marv) Patnode of Liverpool; her sons Rick (Barb) Bashaw of Syracuse and Mike (Renee Bronk) Bashaw of New Hartford; her sister. Gladys Romoli of Oneida; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, Oneida, at the convenience of the family.
