Anthony J. Bornschein Sr
Oneida-Anthony J. Bornschein Sr, 40, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Upstate Medical Center, while his loving family was by his side, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 16, 1981, in Patchogue, Long Island, the son of Herbert and Virginia Melendez Bornschein. He was raised in Patchogue, and enjoyed youth baseball and being a member of the Boy Scouts. His family relocated to the Oneida area later in Anthony’s life. Anthony made his living as a self-employed dry wall installer. He was a care giver and extremely protective of his grandmother, Margaret Taylor. Anthony loved to work in the home kitchen preparing delicious meals for his family. He loved family events, where he was known as the “clown” of the family. His laughter and his smile would always bring cheer to all. Anthony was a proud dad who dearly loved his children. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him.
He leaves behind his family in mourning, they include: the mother of his children, Sherri Weingartner, and their children: Savanna Weingartner, Alabama Weingartner, and Anthony J. Bornschein Jr.; his mother Virginia Bornschein; his father and step-mother Herbert and Kimberly Bornschein; his maternal grandmother Margaret Taylor; his paternal grandmother Judy Bornschein; his brother Corey Bornschein; his sisters Nicole Bornschein and Angela Clayton; his step brother Joseph Streib; his step sister Kelliann Hubbard; his brother Bryan Bornschein; his brother Aviano Estro; his sisters Annastasia Estro and Adalina Estro; his paternal uncles Richard Bornschein and Robert Bornschein; his paternal aunt Judylynn (Mike) Bornschein; his maternal uncles: Jack Melendez, Michael Melendez, and Paul Melendez; his maternal aunts: Marielena Melendez, Michelle (Matt) Jessen, and Dorothy Nieves. Anthony is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anthony was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Herbert Bornschein, his maternal grandmother Carol Estro, and his birth father Alan “Ace” Estro.
There will be calling hours for Anthony on Sunday, March 28, from 4-6 PM at the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home under the direction of Jeffrey T. Paul, Funeral Director.
