Richard Richmond Obituary

Richard K. Richmond passed away Sunday, July 1st, peacefully at home with his family by his side.  Rick was born and raised in Oneida, NY and graduated from Oneida High School in 1982.  He then worked for 17 year at Oneida Limited before becoming a corrections officer for New York State.  Rick retired from NYSCO after 17 years of service.  Rick was first and formost a devoted family man and loved taking family vacations together.  He also loved riding his Harley and would make sure to stop and eat at the best restaurants along the ride.  He was also a passionate bass player from a very young age and was in his first band at 16 and was fondly referred to as he Bassman!   Rick will be remembered most as a kind soul who was always willing to listen and give wonderful advice.  As he always used to say, “It is what it is.”  May he be reunited with his dad drinking a beer on the sun porch.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Dianna Richmond, and two daughters, Mikayla Coston, and Kelsey Richmond, and devoted canine companion Gemma, brothers Thomas (Patricia) Richmond, and Lawrence (Deborah) Richmond, and loving niece Brandy (Jason) Grasso, and nephew Philip (Sarah) Richmond.  He is predeceased by his parents Philip and Rose (Powlesland) Richmond and his baby brother Timothy, also mother-in-law Deborah Knuppenburg.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 5th, from 4 to 6 pm with a service following immediately at 6 pm at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Avenue, Oneida.

Enjoy every sandwich!
