Patricia A. York, 89, passed away Friday February 15, 2019. She was born the daughter of Raymond Sr. and Joan MacDonald Forbes in the Town of Granby, NY. Pat attended Oswego High School and was a 1950 graduate of Morrisville College. A resident of Oneida since 1956, she was a charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, former member of Catholic Daughters of America #2250, officer in St. Patrick’s Mothers Club, a life member of the Ladies of the Elks #767, a member of Morrisville Alumni and a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels. She had been employed for 21 years at Sullivan Oneida Motors as secretary/treasurer and also worked at a local accounting firm.
Pat married William R. York October 7, 1950 in St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton. They were avid travelers completing 50 states. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1988; two brothers, Raymond and Philip; and one sister, Margaret. Pat is Survived by two sons, William R. II (Robyn) of Beaufort, SC and Lynn F. of Conway, SC; three grandchildren, Ryan, Blythe (Arlen) and Tristan; three great grandchildren, Riley, Maddie and MacKinnon; and one sister, Joan Welch of Lexington, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday 2-5 pm at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Oneida on Friday at 10 am, with Rev. Richard J. Kapral officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Oneida.
