Margaret B. (Baltusnik) Stewart

March 5, 1931 ~ November 4, 2018 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Margaret Stewart Obituary

With her family’s prayers around her, Margaret departed this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her home in Clinton.

She was born March 5, 1931, in Munnsville, the daughter of Margaret Sheehan and Peter Baltusnik.  On January 26, 1952, she married Robert E. Stewart of Oneida.  Mr. Stewart died November 6, 2002; a happy marriage of over 51 years. 

Margaret was employed in the Business Office of the Rome DDSO, retiring in 1994 after 21 years.  Before that she was a secretary to Sheriff “Cub” Spaulding at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. 

Margaret was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, served as a Eucharistic Minister for 4 years and was a member of St. Joseph’s Senior Club.  She also served as a substitute for Eucharistic Perpetual Adoration and the religious education program.   She was a member of the Ladies of the Elk’s BPOE #767, acting as membership chairperson for 5 years.  She was also a volunteer for the Oneida Healthcare Center. 

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Richard Zimmer of Ballston Lake and Linda and David Acee of Westmoreland; her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Debra Stewart of West Bloomfield, MI; three grandchildren, Tyler and Megan Peters and Jennifer Stewart; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Barbara Baltusnik of Hamilton; her sister-in-law, Breta Jane McChesney of Oneida; and her much loved kitty, Lucy. 

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Oneida with Rev. Richard J. Kapral officiating.  Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida.  Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 PM at Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave,, Oneida,
