Gary L.. Hull

Gary L. Hull, 75, of Oneida, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville. 

He was born June 4, 1943 in Oneida, the son of the late Chester and Adeline Boylan Hull and was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley Central School.  Gary was an MP in the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany.  For 19 years, he was a Pari Mutuel Clerk with OTB in Chittenango, retiring in 2008.  He was an active member of the Canastota American Legion post #140 and a past President of the Owl’s Nest #1606.  Gary also enjoyed participating in many bowling and shuffleboard leagues, playing cards and chess, working, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Collins and her companion, PJ Doran, Jr. of Oneida; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and Lyle Eddy of Oneida and Ruth and Ward Henty of Oriskany Falls; three grandsons, Dan, Logan and Bryce; and many nieces and nephews.

His family would like to thank the staff at the Hazel Carpenter Adult Home and Crouse Community Center for the care and compassion they showed Gary during his time there.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 4 pm at the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave., Oneida with Rev. Neil Coe officiating.  Spring interment with Military Honors will be held in Stockbridge Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 pm, prior to the service.  Following the funeral services, the family will greet friends at the Oneida American Legion post #169, Oneida.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Canastota American Legion post #140 or the Oneida American Legion post # 169.
