David N. Harrington, 77, of Oneida, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Oneida Healthcare.
He was born January 23, 1941, in Rome, the son of the late Allan and Ella Owen Harrington and was a graduate of Oneida High School. He was employed with Hubbard Industries, Carrier Corp and retired in 1999 as President and CEO of Oneida Molded Plastics. He was a member of the Oneida Elks Lodge #767 and attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
David collected and restored children’s pedal cars and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Wood Harrington; two sons, David Leigh (Julin) Harrington of Sugar Land, TX and Scott Allan Harrington of Euless, TX; a brother, Alan W. Harrington of Utah; four grandsons, Colin, Justin, Derick and Adam; a great grandson, Strafford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kerry L. Harrington.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 pm at the Coolican-McSweeney Funeral Home, 322 Washington Ave, Oneida with Pastor Abigail Browka officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida. Calling hours are Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm, prior to the service with a gathering of close friends and family at Graziano’s Italian restaurant, in Canastota immediately following the service.
